MG BGT paint restoration with Restore and Shine

Posted on

We were asked to lift the original paint on this ’74 MG BGT recently from its dull Teal to a bright new level. After a wash with Bubbles and a dry down with our blue drying towel, the chosen weapon of choice was our trusty DAS Pro random machine, a medium Spider pad and a good helping of Restore and Shine compound and polish. Various areas responded differently but the overall finish was a complete surprise. When you have a vehicle this age you don’t really know its true paint history, little bits of panel work have different thicknesses and quality of paint, so the outcome is going to be a surprise however you look at it.

A few passes with Restore and Shine bought the majority up better than we thought and left us with a very happy customer.

The second photo was taken recently, the original 50/50 shot was taken about 2 years ago, and she’s still looking as good as new even though she hasn’t been washed since the polish and wax!
